Dior men’s is about to get a whole new look

A month ago, the never-ending rumors that Jonathan Anderson was departing Loewe were confirmed, though where he would end up remained a mystery. It was widely speculated that Anderson was leaving his decade-long run at Loewe to head up Dior.
Today, his appointment is no longer a mystery. Jonathan Anderson will succeed Kim Jones’ seven-year run at Dior Homme.
Anderson’s appointment at Loewe marks a new era for Dior Homme, and while many have wished to see him oversee womenswear as well, the possibility of that remains unknown right now.
Anderson, who oversaw both men’s and womenswear while at Loewe’s helm, got his start in menswear under his namesake label, founded in 2008, and later launched womenswear.
A New Era for Dior Homme
His innovative, fluid approach to fashion caught the eye of executives at LVMH. The luxury conglomerate then invested in the label and simultaneously appointed Anderson as Creative Director of Loewe in 2013. That decision would go on to shape the entirety of Anderson’s career and Loewe’s trajectory.
Under the magic of Anderson, Loewe saw unprecedented success with sales increasing from around €230 million in 2014 to somewhere between €1.5 billion and €2 billion. But can he create that same magic at Dior? The move will keep Anderson within the LVMH family, whose collections are known to be both intricate and wearable, with clean lines and soft movement.
Anderson will present his first collection for Dior Homme in June.
